During a round, many golfers may find it troublesome to have to properly align themselves due to a possible hook or slice in a shot that is consistent. By using a golf alignment mat, however, your shot can be aligned during practice at particular angles and see which angle will line up a shot the best.
“The golfing public has, in the last few decades, been steered away from golf as a game of feel. The emphasis today is on the mechanics of the swing. As you may have already noticed, I think this is the wrong path.”-Jim Flick
By practicing on golf mats, and getting mechanics down but using repetition to learn about getting a feel for a shot, it is likely that the alignment will become a product of feel for your shots due to time spent with golf practice balls and golf practice mats.
